EU-US Cooperation in Higher Education and Vocational Training: Atlantis
There has been a call for proposals for the EU-US Cooperation in Higher Education and Vocational Training: Atlantis: Actions for Transatlantic Links and Academic Networks in Training and Integrated Studies.
This a co-operation programme between the European Community and the United States of America, in the field of higher education and vocational education and Training. The aim is to promote understanding and interaction between the peoples of the European Union and the US, including broader knowledge of their languages, cultures and institutions, and to improve the quality of the human resource development of both the EU and the US.
The three main actions under Atlantis are:
Action 1 – Transatlantic Degree Consortia Projects
This action provides support for consortia of EU and US higher education institutions to implement dual/double or joint degree programmes. Support includes mobility grants for students and members of the academic and administrative staff.
Action 2 – Excellence in Mobility Projects
This action provides funding for international curriculum development projects.
Support includes mobility grants for students and members of the academic and administrative staff.
Action 3 – Policy-Orientated Measures
This action provides support to multilateral EU-US projects and activities designed to enhance collaboration in the higher education and vocational training field.
The maximum duration of projects varies between 24 and 48 months depending on the action. Activities are planned to start between October 2011, and depending on the programme action, finish two or four years later.
