I’m writing you on the behalf of our organization "Gioventù Protagonista" in order to invite you to take part to the 2° International Meeting of Young Volunteers. It is an Action 5.1 whose aim is to make volunteers and policy makers get to know each other and exchange best practices.

The activity will last approximately one week, during which the participants will follow seminars, round tables with the youth and social policy makers and will have the possibility to get to know each other and exchange best practices on youth volunteering.

Furthermore, one day will be entirely dedicated to the EVS: organisation accredited for the EVS will have the occasion to share their knowledge and experience, according to the principles of the European Year of Volunteering.

The meeting will be held in Viterbo, and Italian city near Rome and will involve young volunteers, international experts and decision makers in the field of youth from all over Europe.

I found your association in Salto database and I thought I would be particularly stimulating to work together.

Summary:
Asia and Europe face many problems with climate changes. Given its
global dimension, climate changes are a very significant topic among
European and Asian young people. Together they can make the difference
by being the critical mass which is needed to effectively change for
better the environmental policies. In fact, these changes may even
represent a saving of money. One of the pillars of EU policies on
climate change is the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS)
(http://ec.europa.eu/clima/policies/ets/index_en.htm), launched on
January 1, 2005.

We plan to organize different activities in different countries with
youth from Europe and Asia. These activities will consist of a youth
exchange in China (with 4 people from each partner), a training course
in Portugal (with 4 people from each partner), a campaign in a
European country other than Portugal (with 5 people from each
partner), and a seminar in an Asian country other than China (with 4
people from each partner), and in all of these moments, the main idea
is to involve as many people as possible to discuss this environmental
issue, hoping to increase the impact of this project in our
communities and most of all in the European and Asian Youth. This
whole project is planned to take place between November 1, 2011 and
October 31, 2012.
